Alicia Machado, the beauty queen, actress and model was born Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo on the 6th of December, 1976 in Maracay, Venezuela. Alicia has a variety of heritage with her father being Spanish and her mother is from Cuban descendance. Her career has included a significant actor in film, television, and beauty pageants all her life. Alicia Machado rose to fame as she won the title of Miss Venezuela at age 19 representing Yaracuy. A year later she became the fourth Venezuelan woman to be crowned Miss Universe 1996. Her time being Miss Universe was marred by controversy and negative media attention as she grew weight during her reign. Donald Trump who was the Miss Universe Organization's owner during that time, attacked her over her weight gain.
